February 3, 2025 Lunch - Sausage, Mushroom, onion, and black bean Egg Foo Young. Dinner - Grilled Lamb Chops with PPI Roasted Potatoes and Brussels sprouts
I watched the market tumble in the morning and then regain part of it foundation toward the end of the day as the news broke that Trump had put a thirty day hold on Mexican tariffs. I still lost a huge amount but it could have been worse and when Palantir announced its earnings after the close it stock shout up $20.00. Trump also put a thirty day hold on Canadian tariffs, so tomorrow the market should regain part of the lost ground of today.
My portfolio is down over 9% from its recent high due mostly to the continued pressure on Apple and Nvidia, but I still have faith in these stocks based on my belief that Nvidia will surge when it introduces its Blackwell and Ruben chips.
I ate a bowl of granola with whipped cream, yogurt, milk, and blueberries at 10:30.
Then at 1:15 I sautéed some onion, with some Jimmie Dean sausage and black beans and added rice and finally stirred in two eggs for an Egg Foo Young effect. I toasted a flour tortilla and lay the mixture on it.
I made a cup of green tea and sprinkled Cholula red sauce on the mixture and ate a hearty quick lunch.
At 4:30 I walked around the block on my way to accumulating 3500 steps today.
Two redesigned houses to modernize them in the neighborhood.
When I returned home Suzette had arrived and was hungry so at 6:00 we cooked dinner.
Dinner - Suzette grilled six of the lamb chops we bought yesterday and heated the PPI Roasted Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts from last week for an easy quick dinner.
I opened the bottle of 2022 Cypress Cuvée Cotes Du Rhone by Kermit Lynch we bought at Kokoman yesterday. It had a surprising complexity and smoothness for a $15.00 bottle.
Here are some notes: Since 1929, this winery has been bringing local vignerons together from the outlying areas of Avignon in the Southern Rhone to produce delicious wines that epitomize the region’s complex terroirs. Kermit works closely with winemaker Jean-Francois Pasturel to develop the blend. Pasturel is thrilled to be able to have the chance to produce a Cotes du Rhone he does not have to filter to death. It is his tete de cuvee, his pride and joy.
After dinner we watched a little news and then a new movie on Prime called You Are Cordially Invited. That had a lot of slap stick humor, but was engaging
We went to bed at 10:00.
Bon Appetit
