July 10, 2025, Lunch – Costco Hot Dog Dinner
– Sauteed steak, red beets, sweet and sour red cabbage, mushrooms, and onion
I ate granola with yogurt, milk, and blueberries for
breakfast.
I worked until 11:40 and then drove to Shahin’s for an
appointment with Mr. Hadi.
When the appointment ended around 1:00 I drove to
Costco and ate a hot dog and then bought sugar, Spanish olive, and five bottles
of wine, two Spanish Mencia reds, a Chateau Neuf du Pape, one other, and a
Priorat.
When I returned home I watched the Market close and
was pleased that on a down day my portfolio squeezed out a .004% gain thanks to
NVDA and then took an hour nap.
We watched the highlights of the Tour de France Stage
6 that was won by an Irishman named Healy in a breakaway, which is highly
unusual.
Then at 6:30 Suzette made a quick dinner with mostly
PPI’s. I sliced 1/3 onion, three mushrooms and ½ of the remaining steak and
Suzette added some of the sliced roasted beets, some diced asparagus, and the PPI sweet and sour red cabbage made
for the roasted duck several days ago.
We poured out the open bottle of Tenebres G.S.M. that
went well with the dinner and later with pieces of Ghirardelli Blood Orange
flavored milk chocolate that we ate while we sipped the last of our wine as we
watched Midsomer Mystery.
Suzette went to bed at 9:30 and I stayed up to watch
Foyle’s War and sip a Maison Serene cognac.
The sweetness of the red cabbage infused all the
ingredients in the dinner sauté so that all the ingredients exuded its flavor.
It was a wonderful new dish and one I hope we have again in the future.
Bon Appetit
